Brooklyn will be in the NBA spotlight on Wednesday and Thursday night, with the 2024 NBA Draft taking place from Barclays Center. Lives of players and franchise’s directions will be changed forever, with a new crop of players entering the fray. As things stand, the Atlanta Hawks hold the No. 1 overall pick and plan on using the selection.
Exactly who they pick is not yet known, though. Oddsmakers are giving it their best shot and odds have been released by FanDuel. International players dominate the top half, with the favorite Zacchaire Risacher coming from France. UConn big man Donovan Clingan is the top American player per the odds.

On3’s James Fletcher released his final mock draft ahead of Wednesday night, having Risacher going No. 1 overall to Atlanta. Sarr went No. 2 to Washington while Houston took the first college player in the draft with Sheppard.
To most, this is not considered a great draft class and there is not a projected true star to come out of the group. We saw how a franchise can change with just one selection this past season via the San Antonio Spurs. Victor Wemanyama was the No. 1 pick, won Rookie of the Year, and has the Spurs feeling good about their future.
Atlanta will be hoping for similar results, no matter who their selection is. Oddsmakers currently tell you Risacher has the best chance of winding up a Hawk.
More on the 2024 NBA Draft
The 2024 NBA Draft is set to take place on Wednesday, June 26, and Thursday, June 27, 2024, in Brooklyn at Barclays Center. Round 1 of the draft will be announced by NBA Commissioner Adam Silver, while Deputy Commissioner Mark Tatum is expected to handle the second round of picks.
To be eligible for the NBA Draft, players must be at least 19 years of age during the calendar year that the draft is held and at least one NBA season from their high school graduation date, or the date that would have been if they are not graduated. It is not required that a player spend that one-year playing college basketball, though. Players can play in either college, abroad, or the G League Ignite if they choose to.
