Christmas panto Aladdin will take to Newark stage this year, organised by Newark Palace Theatre in collaboration with Jordan Productions

The magic of panto is set to return for another year of festive fun with one of the most beloved stories of all, Aladdin.

The annual Newark Palace Theatre panto will run from Friday, December 6, to Tuesday, December 31, in collaboration with Jordan Productions.

Families and audiences of all ages are invited to come along on the journey which promises laughter, love, a genie, and a flying carpet.

Carys Coulton-Jones, business manager for heritage and culture at Newark and Sherwood District Council, said: “I am really looking forward to welcoming people back into the theatre this winter for another year of pantomime fun.

“It’s undoubtedly a must-see, and what better way to spend this holiday season than creating cherished moments with loved ones, surrounded by the enchanting atmosphere of the Palace Theatre?”

Playing Aladdin is Emma Marsh, who is on a mission to stop Alex Scott Fairley as the baddie, Abanazaar, from getting his hands on the magic lamp.

No man in the audience will be safe from the Widow Twankey, played by Phil Stewart, who is looking for love, and her comedic son Wishee-Washee, played by Danny Childs, will deliver the laughs.

People aged eight to 18-years-old are also invited to come along to audition to take part in this year’s pantomime.

On Sunday, September 8, the Palace Theatre will host a fun-filled day of dance, where participants will learn a routine with a professional choreographer for the chance to perform in the show.

All abilities, heights and genders are welcome to audition — however, must be able to commit to the full rehearsal and performance period. To register please visit: www.jordanproductionsltd.co.uk
