West Ham can now sign elite 24-year-old left-back for absolutely nothing this summer

West Ham United can now secure an incredible free transfer for a truly top-class left-back this summer.

The addition of a new left-back might end up being one of the main priorities for West Ham boss Julen Lopetegui this summer.

That’s because Emerson Palmieri is being linked with a potential London Stadium exit in the summer transfer window, with a return to Italy apparently on the cards for the 29-year-old.

Emerson was sensational for the Hammers last season, so Lopetegui obviously won’t want to lose him. However, that decision may well be taken out of his hands.

West Ham have already been linked with a move to sign Lazio left-back Lucas Pellegrini this summer.

However, another name has entered the fray recently, and now it appears as though he won’t cost a single penny…

West Ham can now sign left-back for absolutely nothing

Lopetegui only has around £90 million to spend on new signings this summer.

With that in mind, he will have to be thrifty in his player recruitment, with so many new additions required.

It’s well know that we need to sign a new striker and a centre-back as a matter of urgency, but the additions of new full-backs, on both sides, should be a must as well.

And now, the Hammers seemingly have the chance to sign one of our targets for absolutely nothing – an opportunity that we cannot afford to miss out on.

Juan Miranda is reportedly a transfer target for West Ham this summer.

And there has been a really positive update for the Hammers, regarding our chances of signing the 24-year-old.

Real Betis sporting director Manu Fajardo admitted that Miranda is all set to leave the La Liga side on a free transfer on July 1st, when speaking to Marca.

He said, “In both cases, both Miranda and Guido, we have been negotiating for quite some time, giving them renewal offers. But they have not been accepted.”

“They have not made it official or have not signed with another club. But there are no open negotiations and it does not seem that they will stay at the club. We will thank them for their work and we will wish them luck. That is the current situation”, Fajardo continued.

I think the Betis left-back would be an exceptional addition for West Ham in the summer transfer window, especially on a free transfer!

In 25 La Liga appearances for Betis last season, Miranda averaged 1.5 tackles, one interception and 2.3 clearances per match (Who Scored).

He is very quick indeed and has energy and dynamism in abundance. The only question mark hanging over the Spaniard’s head is whether or not he has the physical attributes needed to succeed in the Premier League.

The fact that he’s available on a free transfer means that there’s no risk involved in signing him though, so I fully expect Lopetegui to go all out to bring his countryman to the London Stadium.
