'First day at the office': Middlesbrough signing Delano Burgzorg shares training pictures on Instagram

New Middlesbrough signing Delano Burgzorg has taken to Instagram to share photos of his first day training at his new club.

Euro 2024 might still be ongoing, but Middlesbrough are already working hard on and off the pitch as they prepare for the 2024/25 campaign.

Middlesbrough have been one of the more active Championship clubs on the transfer front so far this summer, bringing in three new names already.

Boro’s first signing of the window saw Luke Ayling return to Teesside on a permanent basis following a successful loan spell in the second half of 2023/24.

This was followed by forward Delano Burgzorg making the switch from German outfit Mainz 05, with a deal for Aidan Morris expected to be confirmed in the near future as well.

The trio are all set to be a part of the Teessiders’ pre-season fixtures, which get underway on July 20th versus Bolton Wanderers.

Before Middlesbrough take to the field, however, the club are back in training behind the scenes.

Following his international debut for Ivory Coast earlier this month, Emmanuel Latte Lath is yet to return to Rockliffe Park but continues to work hard in the gym.

Now, new Middlesbrough signing Burgzorg has taken to Instagram to share pictures of his first day at the club.

The forward posted numerous pictures of him working in the gym and on the training pitches with various coaches, including Jonathan Woodgate – captioning the post ‘First day at the office’.

What Burgzorg can bring to Middlesbrough

Burgzorg joins Middlesbrough after spending the 2023/24 campaign on loan in the Championship with Huddersfield Town.

The Terriers were relegated to League One at the end of the season but the 25-year-old was still able to score seven and assist two in 33 matches.

Burgzorg is strong, skillful, and loves to run at defenders, with journalist Steven Chicken recently likening him to a three-time Premier League Golden Boot winner.

Burgzorg was primarily used as a centre-forward for Huddersfield, meaning he is capable of being a backup to Latte Lath at Boro.

However, given Middlesbrough’s left-wing options in the previous campaign were not great, Michael Carrick may deploy the Dutchman in his preferred spot on the left flank.
