'I'd be nervous': Leeds told to be worried about of one specific club in race to sign Archie Gray

Leeds have to be wary of one specific club as suitors begin to circle for the signature of Archie Gray, according to a journalist.

Leeds always knew it’d be tough to keep hold of their prized assets if they were to remain in the Championship.

Crysencio Summerville looks the most likely to depart at this stage with Brighton and Hove Albion taking a keen interest.

Wilfried Gnonto has been linked to Nottingham Forest in recent days and now Archie Gray seems to be attracting interest from a club on the continent.

Leeds United told to be worried about Borussia Dortmund in Archie Gray race

Athletic journalist Nancy Froston appeared on One Leeds Fan Channel on Wednesday and discussed the interest in Gray, naming Borussia Dortmund as a club to be wary of.

“I believe Dortmund are one of those clubs basically that are in the mix,” Froston said.

Froston continued: “That would be the one (Dortmund) that I would be nervous about if I was a Leeds fan.

“Just because you’ve seen the pathway and it’s so clear and it’s so established now and they seem to look after them really well and all those things.”

She noted that it’s unlikely Gray will leave Leeds for a mid-table Premier League side and admitted he’s far more likely to make the switch to a European giant or a traditional top-six club.

Leeds may be able to convince Archie Gray to stay

Leeds could convince Gray to stay for at least another year given his family ties to the club.

Froston noted that his family’s emotional attachment to The Whites will play a factor in his future and perhaps he could be tempted to remain – with the club aiming to return to the Premier League.

The Red Bull investment will certainly have boosted the club’s transfer kitty this window, so they may not be under as much pressure to sell him if another key asset departs.

A telling window awaits.
