Report: Tottenham have absolutely ruled out possibility of selling their 'powerful' youngster now

Tottenham Hotspur are expected to be active in this summer’s transfer window.

Ange Postecoglou is currently a pundit on ITV for their coverage of Euro 2024, but that doesn’t mean he’s not planning for the new season at Spurs.

The North Londoners have already re-signed Timo Werner on another loan deal, while the likes of Tanguy Ndombele, Ryan Sessegnon and Japhet Tanganga have been released.

A few more players could be shown the door this summer, including one very talented young striker who has been linked with a move away from the club.

A decision on his Tottenham future has now been made.

Tottenham make decision on Will Lankshear’s future

Tottenham have a number of incredible young players coming through their academy.

The likes of Jamie Donley and Alfie Dorrington made the most noise last season, but there are a few others who have a fantastic future ahead of them.

One such player is Will Lankshear.

The ‘powerful‘ 19-year-old joined Spurs’ academy from Sheffield United in 2022 and has developed into an outstanding player in Tottenham’s youth setup.

Lankshear scored 25 goals and provided three assists in 26 games for the club’s U21s side in the 2023/24 season. He is rated very highly by those at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The teenage striker will enter the final two years of his contract this summer, and reports have claimed Lankshear could leave Tottenham.

However, those rumours have now been rubbished by Alasdair Gold on Football London, who has claimed that ‘Tottenham have made it clear that they have no intention of selling Lankshear’ this summer.

The report claims that the youngster will likely get a chance in pre-season, and Postecoglou, after assessing him, will make a decision on whether to keep him at the club or send him out on loan.

A permanent exit, however, has been completely ruled out.

Another talented Tottenham youngster could leave

Lankshear isn’t the only talented striker on Tottenham’s books, there are others as well.

One of them is Troy Parrott, who has long been tipped to become a future star at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The Ireland international, who’s 22 now, spent last season on loan at Excelsior in the Netherlands, where he impressed by scoring 17 goals and providing five assists.

Football London claim that AZ Alkmaar want to sign Parrott this summer, while he is also attracting interest from clubs in the Championship and elsewhere in Europe. Serie A clubs have also been linked with the attacker.

Gold writes that Tottenham could ‘look to cash in’ on Parrott and insert ‘a healthy sell-on clause’ in the deal this summer.
