Report: Premier League club have now made opening bid to sign 'unbelievable' Inter Miami star

A Premier League club have reportedly made a transfer offer to sign one of Inter Miami’s most highly-rated talents.

The Herons have an array of exciting prospects on their books, with Benjamin Cremaschi a star in the making for the United States national team, as Federico Redondo was courted by FC Barcelona and Real Madrid before moving to Inter Miami.

With 23-year-old striker Leonardo Campana leading the line expertly with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez away at the Copa America, Inter Miami are quite well stocked when it comes to players with potential, with teenage defender Tomas Aviles also a top prospect.

Yet one talent could be heading to England this summer with a bid now on the table.

Brighton & Hove Albion submit bid for Inter Miami’s Diego Gomez

According to the Athletic, Brighton & Hove Albion have made an opening offer to sign midfielder Diego Gomez, who this season has been one of Inter Miami’s top performers before suffering an ankle injury.

As per the report, Brighton are not the only club to table a bid for the Paraguay international, who is close to returning to action with Inter Miami having enjoyed a stellar year in numerous positions under Tata Martino.

Lauded as a midfielder with ‘unbelievable’ vision, Gomez has been rumored with a Premier League move already this year, with West Ham also believed to be interested in the 21-year-old as a potential replacement for Lucas Paqueta.

Yet given Brighton’s incredible record with developing talents, especially those from South America, Gomez moving to the English south coast could be a good decision for the midfielder, though Inter Miami will need to hope they can retain the youngster until the end of the year.

Inter Miami need Gomez in MLS Cup and Supporters’ Shield bids

With three goals and three assists in 13 matches this season, Gomez has been one of Inter Miami’s best players even having spent the last two months out on the treatment table.

And because of this, it might be best for Gomez to remain at Inter Miami for the remainder of the year whilst a deal to join Brighton in 2025 is agreed, with the midfielder needed for the Herons in their bid to win MLS Cup and the Supporters’ Shield.

Indeed, Gomez’s development would be better served at Inter Miami given how important the midfielder is for the Herons, with the youngster also in need of more top-flight experience in MLS before making the move to the Premier League with a club like Brighton.
