'It will be fun': Kulusevski says there's an 18-year-old at Spurs he's excited to play alongside next season

Tottenham Hotspur star Dejan Kulusveski is already looking ahead to the new season.

Spurs raised the excitement level in and around the club in the 2023/24 campaign thanks to Ange Postecoglou.

The Australian’s style of play was a breath of fresh air for Tottenham fans after the dreadful football they had to watch under the likes of Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte.

Tottenham are expected to be even better in the 2024/25 campaign, and Kulusevski could play a big part for the North London side.

The Swede has now revealed that he is looking forward to sharing the pitch with one young player next season.

Dejan Kulusevski has some advice for Lucas Bergvall before his Tottenham move

Lucas Bergvall will be at Tottenham next season.

The Swede was a wanted man in the January transfer window and a number of clubs were after him. Barcelona even seemed like the favourites at one point.

However, Tottenham reached an agreement to sign Bergvall ahead of Barca, and the talented 18-year-old will officially move to Spurs this summer.

Despite being so young, fans of the North London club are really excited to see what Bergvall can do next season, but they aren’t the only ones.

Fellow Swede Kulusevski has also expressed his excitement about having a compatriot alongside him at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

In an interview with Aftonbladet, Kulusevski was asked if he has spoken to Bergvall ahead of his move to Spurs this summer.

The Tottenham number 21 replied: “No, but it is clear that I’m happy that I’ll have a Swedish teammate and be there for him and help him as much as possible because it’s a big step he is taking.

“It will be special, it will be fun. It’s nice to be able to speak Swedish too and talk to Lucas. We still have the same culture and the same background.

“It will be fun to talk to him and see his reaction to coming to the Premier League.”

When asked if he has any advice for Bergvall, Kulusevski said: “It’s a lot of stuff but see the big perspective day by day.

“Get better and don’t think too much, but just think about getting better every day and just think about it.”

What to expect from Bergvall in the 2024/25 season

Bergvall is one of the best young players in the world – there’s no debate there.

The teenager is outstanding on the ball, is technically fantastic and his style of play is something Postecoglou will love next season.

However, Tottenham fans should give him time to adapt. He’s still only 18 years old and has never played outside of Sweden in his life.

The pace of the Premier League could make Bergvall struggle at the start, but as he trains more with the Spurs first-team, we’re sure he will adapt.

It will be interesting to see how many minutes Bergvall will get at Tottenham next season.
