'An absolute dream to work with': Marc Guehi says he absolutely loves playing with £47m Man City player

Marc Guehi has had his say on one Manchester City player.

Guehi has become the talk of the town when it comes to England players at Euro 2024 — as he continues to impress game after game, putting yet another impressive performance in during his side’s 0-0 draw against Slovenia.

The Crystal Palace defender has formed one of the best centre-pairings at the European Championship alongside John Stones — as they complement each other very well. As Guehi and Stones continue to play with each other, their bond at the back is increasingly likely to grow even stronger.

Marc Guehi hails John Stones ahead of England vs Slovakia

England have conceded just one goal in three games — which goes to show how terrific their centre-back partnership has been so far at the tournament.

However, Slovakia will pose a tough test for the Three Lions, having beaten Belgium 1-0 already in Group E.

But a centre-back of the calibre of the 23-year-old is likely to be up for the challenge.

As quoted by BBC Sport, Guehi was quizzed about his experience of playing alongside Stones and he was full of praise for the £47 million man.

The former Chelsea colossus said: “I can’t speak highly enough of him. He is an absolute dream to play with. I am just following in his footsteps.”

“Just seeing them two [John Stones and Harry Maguire] play at the highest level consistently and never letting their country down has paved the way for me.”

John Stones would be relishing the role of guiding Marc Guehi

As an experienced player in England’s dressing room, Stones must be relishing the chance to act as a mentor to Guehi.

The Abidjan-born defender has plenty of Premier League experience.

But international football is a completely different ball game.

Playing for England of all countries brings a massive weight of expectations for a player inexperienced when it comes to tournament football at the international stage.

However, having been a mainstay in Gareth Southgate’s setup for several years, Stones would be telling Guehi how to operate in a games, based on the opponent.

In addition, the Manchester City defender can pass on his experience to him, having also played against the best of the best in the Champions League.

The experience of mentoring Guehi would also be helping Stones grow as a leader — an opportunity senior players tend to relish.
