'In the next days': Fabrizio Romano shares big Riccardo Calafiori transfer update from 'sources close to Bologna'

Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal are just three of the Premier League clubs that have been linked with Riccardo Calafiori in recent weeks.

The Reds, Spurs and the Gunners are all likely to be busy in the coming weeks as they look to bolster their ranks ahead of next season.

Liverpool will be eager to build on Jurgen Klopp’s fruitful tenure at Anfield and hit the ground running under Arne Slot.

Meanwhile, Tottenham will look to kick on after a decent season under Ange Postecoglou, with a Premier League top-four finish in their sights.

As for Arsenal, they’ve improved with each passing season under Mikel Arteta, and they’ll be desperate to rubber-stamp this progress with the Premier League title.

All three clubs have been linked with Calafiori, one of the most exciting defensive talents in European football at present.

And now, Fabrizio Romano has shared a significant update regarding the Bologna player.

Riccardo Calafiori unlikely to stay at Bologna amid Liverpool, Tottenham and Arsenal links

Romano, speaking on his YouTube channel, has reported that the feeling around Calafiori has changed in the past few weeks.

While Bologna previously thought they could keep hold of him past the transfer window, the feeling now is that he’s unlikely to stay.

And while Juventus have been heavily linked with Calafiori, it’s expected to be an open race for his services, and his club is bracing itself for offers in the coming days.

“The feeling of sources close to Bologna is that now, despite what they felt like two or three weeks ago before the Euros, now looks unlikely for Bologna to be able to keep Ricardo Calafiori at the club,” said Romano.

“Bologna know that big clubs are coming. Juventus are already there, but at the moment, as I told you many times, the relationship between Juventus and Bologna is complicated after Thiago Motta left to join Juventus.

“So the relationship between the clubs is difficult. While Calafiori already gave his green light to Juventus, the race is open also for other clubs.

“So bologna expect big clubs to enter the race for Ricardo Calafiori in the next days and weeks, so keep a close eye to this story.”

Premier League giants will fancy their chances of signing Calafiori

Liverpool and Arsenal will certainly fancy their chances of signing the Italy international.

The Reds and the Gunners were in Premier League title contention last season, and they’ll be eager to challenge once again.

Meanwhile, Spurs are on the up under Postecoglou and will hope to be in top-four contention next term.

However, one recent report suggested Calafiori isn’t too keen on joining them.

That said, Tottenham did sign Radu Dragusin and Lucas Bergvall ahead of Bayern Munich and Barcelona, so they certainly know what it takes to convince players to come to N17.

In addition, the upper Premier League clubs aren’t exactly in a bad position finance-wise, and they could all outmuscle Juve for the best players.
