Since the beginning of the day, 28 June, 59 combat engagements have taken place on the frontline. Most of the fighting took place in the Pokrovsk sector, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"Since the beginning of this day, 59 combat engagements have already taken place. The Russian invaders carried out 16 airstrikes using 33 combat aircraft, fired more than 565 times at the positions of Ukrainian troops and settlements," the General Staff writes.
Sectors
In the Kharkiv sector, Russians continue to attack near Vovchansk. 3 Russian attacks have been repelled and another is ongoing.
In the Kupiansk sector, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 2 Russian attacks on Stepova Novoselivka and Stelmakhivka.
In the Lyman sector, Russia is conducting assault operations in the areas of Makiivka, Nevske, Torske, and Serebryanske forestry. 4 Russian attacks were repelled and 4 more are ongoing.
In the Siversk sector, the Russians have increased the intensity of their offensive. So far, there have been 12 engagements, 10 of which have been repelled near Spirne, Rozdolivka, and Vyimka, and 2 more are ongoing in the vicinity of Spirne.
In the Kramatorsk sector, Russia is attacking near Ivanivske and Chasiv Yar. 3 Russian attacks are currently underway.
In the Toretsk sector, Russians tried to attack twice from the direction of Horlivka.
In the Pokrovsk sector, 19 firefights have already taken place. Russians are trying to break through from the Ocheretyne area in the directions of Vozdvyzhenka, Yevhenivka, Novooleksandrivka, and Prohres. Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled 5 Russian attacks, and 7 more are ongoing.
In the Kurakhove sector, Russians tried to attack near Heorhiivka, Kostiantynivka, and Paraskoviivka, 1 firefight is still ongoing.
In the Vremivka sector, 2 Russian attacks were repelled near Vodiane. The situation is tense.
In the Orikhiv sector, Russians are trying to push the Ukrainian Defense Forces out near Mala Tokmachka. 1 battle is currently underway.
Russia's losses in war against Ukraine
According to Ukraine's General Staff, over the past 24 hours, on 28 June, Russian losses amounted to 1,170 manpower units. In particular, the Defense Forces destroyed 24 tanks, 60 artillery systems, 1 aircraft, and more.
Since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Russia has lost about 540,490 troops.
