The allocation Celtic could receive at Tynecastle in 2024/25

Celtic facing Heart of Midlothian at Tynecastle is one of the first fixtures on the calendar you look out for as a supporter.

In what can often become heated affairs, there is no love lost between the two sides as Glasgow and Edinburgh collide throughout the season.

Last term, Celtic served up a 4-1 victory in the capital before being stung 2-0 during a controversial clash in early March that landed Brendan Rodgers in hot water with the SFA.

This campaign, the Irishman will take the reigning champions to face Steven Naismith’s outfit on Saturday,23rd November, which is worth jotting down ahead of time.

As far as allocations go, Rodgers haspreviously highlighted the dire number of Celtic supporters allowed into the venue — just 576 away supporters were permitted for the 4-1 triumph in October 2023.

Cited via The Edinburgh Evening News, Hearts have chosen to keep their policy of allocating away fans around 650 briefs in one section of the Roseburn Stand, apart from Hibernian, who will receive a full stand.

The outlet claim that the Edinburgh-based club are keen to prioritise the needs of their own supporters due to the demand for home tickets.

These measures are believed to be in place for at least another year at the venue, meaning Celtic will only have a limited number of supporters in attendance at Tynecastle.

Once again, this highlights the need for a set barometer regarding visiting fans permitted to attend fixtures. Having next to no following from an away side isn’t healthy and takes away from the wider product on show.

There is also once again scope for goalposts to be moved, as seen last year with the paltry allocation of 576; nevertheless, that is unlikely, and this is a practice more clubs are taking up year on year.
