When EA Sports released the Top 25 Home Field Advantages in their new College Football 25 video game earlier this week, LSU fans took to message boards and social media to contest the fact LSU was ranked third behind Texas A&M and Alabama.
It looks like they weren’t alone in their frustrations as LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier had some fun on Friday afternoon at the Manning Passing Academy in Thibodaux, Louisiana when asked about the rankings.
“Don’t even get me started,” Nussmeier said quickly. “There’s no place like Death Valley at night, first off. Kyle Field is loud, I’ll give them that, but it’s not Death Valley. The Swamp is loud, but it’s not Death Valley. For us to be three… I don’t want to piss EA off because I want my rating to be nice, so shoutout EA Sports for bringing the game back. I’m not mad, I’m just saying, if you’re updating the player ratings, maybe come to one more game and maybe you can update the stadium rankings. Maybe you’ll change your mind.”
Nussmeier was not contentious in his quote, but more surprised that Tiger Stadium would ever be behind the likes of Kyle Field and Bryant-Denny Stadium on a list like this. His opinion certainly holds weight as he’s been in the SEC for three years now, taking in almost all of the atmospheres near the top of the list.
