Report: Newcastle have offered 'game-changer' to a club but they don't actually want him

A number of players could leave Newcastle United in the coming weeks.

Newcastle may need to sell before buying this summer as they look to comply with the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability rules, which do not allow clubs to lose more than £105m over a three-year accountancy period.

With that in mind, the future of a lot of Eddie Howe’s squad is up in the air.

Yankuba Minteh could reportedly leave St James’ Park imminently, while Callum Wilson is believed to be attracting interest from West Ham.

Miguel Almiron is another thought to have admirers and Martin Dubravka could also depart.

Then, there’s Kieran Trippier.

Hailed as a “game-changer” by Alan Shearer for his impact since joining Newcastle, last season proved much more difficult for the England international.

Though currently away on international duty with England at Euro 2024, there has now been a development in regards to his situation.

Newcastle have offered Kieran Trippier to AC Milan – but they don’t want to sign him

Indeed, according to AS Roma Live, the club have actually offered Trippier to AC Milan as they look to raise funds.

However, the Italian giants are reportedly more interested in a move for Tottenham’s Emerson Royal instead.

They also add that Roma have been offered Trippier too.

Kieran Trippier actually wants to stay at Newcastle

Despite reportedly agreeing a move to Bayern Munich back in January, it seems Trippier would actually like to stay at Newcastle.

It is a feeling shared by Howe too, albeit moving a player out of form at his age on would be wise given Newcastle’s balancing act to comply with FFP regulations.

Few would doubt Trippier has been a superb signing for Newcastle but now does feel like a natural time to depart, particularly considering Tino Livramento’s form last season.
