Euro 2024 has been a great tournament so far, full of underdog triumphs, 30-yard screamers and dramatic late winners.

Now things will only get better as the stakes increase tenfold for the knock-out stages that begin on Saturday with the Round of 16.

England will have to wait until Sunday before they return to the field against Slovakia and must put in a stronger display than they managed in the group stages if they are to advance without incident.

Spain will play later on in the day when they face surprise package Georgia, who managed to qualify from their group with a shock win over Portugal.

How to watch England vs Slovakia

England finished top of Group C but only by the skin of their teeth as Denmark couldn’t defeat Serbia to potentially take their place.

Gareth Southgate’s side have frustrated so far with three lacklustre displays and the pressure is on for them to step up several gears when they take on Slovakia in the knock-out stages.

The Three Lions will take to the field in their first knockout game of Euro 2024 on Sunday, with kick-off coming at 5 pm in the UK.

The round of 16 encounter will be televised live in the UK on ITV 1, with coverage getting underway 90 minutes before kick-off at 3:30 pm.

There will also be a free live stream of the match on ITVX, which can be watched on smartphones, tablets and computers. ITV 1 can also be watched on the streaming platform Sky Go.

Phil Foden has left the England camp this week to be present for the birth of his third child but is expected to return in time to be involved in the match.

England otherwise have no fresh injury concerns but will be keeping everything crossed Luke Shaw is fit enough to finally play a game.

Georgia have already achieved the remarkable by defeating Portugal 2-0 to make it through their group as one of the best third-placed sides.

Yet, they will have to do something even better if they are to go any further as they face off against the impressive Spain in the last 16.

Luis de la Fuente will welcome Rodri back from suspension after he missed the last group stage game, a match the Manchester City midfielder almost certainly would have been rested for anyway.

The Spain boss made 10 changes for the match and just as many can be expected here with the likes of Lamine Yamal, Nico Williams and Alvaro Morata also returning.

Anzor Mekvabishvili will be available again for Georgia after missing the win over Portugal due to suspension.
