'Here we go': Romano claims 'extremely interesting' player Aston Villa reportedly want is now set for PL rivals

Aston Villa are likely to continue being busy in the summer transfer window as Unai Emery looks to bolster his ranks.

The Villans have been spinning several plates in recent weeks, with deals recently completed for defender Ian Maatsen and forward Lewis Dobbin.

Meanwhile, the deal involving Douglas Luiz, Samuel Iling-Junior and Enzo Barranachea is seemingly close to completion, and Tim Iroegbunam has gone to Everton.

Although Villa have done very well so far, the transfer window won’t always go one club’s way, with some targets opting to go elsewhere.

For instance, a striker that the Villans have reportedly been monitoring is now said to be closing in on a move to a Premier League rival.

Aston Villa target Jorgen Strand Larsen now set for Wolves

The player in question is Jorgen Strand Larsen and, according to a recent Daily Mail report, the Villans and West Ham have shown interest in the striker.

However, in the above article, Wolves already appeared to be stealing a march on the Celta Vigo forward with a £25million bid.

Now, Fabrizio Romano has taken to X to declare “here we go” on Larsen to Molineux.

“Jorgen Strand Larsen to Wolves, here we go! Deal in place, verbal agreement also on personal terms,” he wrote.

“Long term deal agreed after the €30million (£25million) package agreed with Celta Vigo revealed earlier this week.

“Jorgen Strand Larsen will complete medical and sign next week.”

Villa miss out on striker likened to Ibrahimovic

Although Villa have already got themselves a new forward in Dobbin, they may well be looking for further additions up front if Jhon Duran goes.

Larsen has been going from strength to strength at Celta Vigo and is also making a name for himself at international level.

Last season, he registered 13 goals and three assists in 37 La Liga appearances. He has also won 14 caps for Norway, scoring three times.

Football Talent Scout’s Jacek Kulig has compared Larsen to Sweden legend Zlatan Ibrahimovic on X and has also dubbed him an “extremely interesting” forward.

While it’s a shame for Villa that they’re missing out on Larsen, they’ve got plenty of time to bring someone else in.
