Report: Club now worried they are going to lose ‘world-class’ player after he’s linked with Tottenham move

Tottenham Hotspur are yet to make their first permanent signing of the summer transfer window but continue to be linked with moves for a host of stars.

Timo Werner’s loan switch from RB Leipzig has been extended by a further season but with pre-season set to start on July 6, Ange Postecoglou will be keen to have fresh faces through the door sooner rather than later.

Eberechi Eze is one player who has been heavily linked with a move across London to Tottenham already this summer.

TBR Football revealed on Tuesday that Spurs have made enquiries about landing the Crystal Palace star.

Now, according to reports, the Eagles are worried about growing interest in their star man, particularly with Michael Olise set to join former Spurs talisman Harry Kane at Bayern Munich.

Palace worried about Eberechi Eze amid Tottenham interest

GiveMeSport has shared the latest on Eze’s future, with a host of Premier League sides keen on the 25-year-old.

It’s claimed that with Olise nearing a switch to Munich, Palace are worried they could also lose another key man in Eze.

Eze and Olise are also said to be close friends and with the latter departing, it’s deemed likely that Eze will also be open to a switch away from Selhurst Park.

As for Tottenham’s interest, they are keeping tabs on Eze’s situation but it remains unclear whether there is a willingness to meet Palace’s demands.

Tottenham urged to sign Eze

Should Spurs firm up their interest in Eze, they are likely to face stern competition for the ‘world-class’ midfielder’s signature.

The likes of Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool have all been credited with an interest.

Eze netted 11 times and created six goals for Palace last season, earning him a spot at Euro 2024 with England.

Darren Ambrose has already urged Spurs to take up the opportunity to land the Englishman this summer.

“Another one, Eze. I know I am associated with Palace, but there’s an opportunity to get him at Spurs. Sensational,” the pundit said.

But the talented Palace star is unlikely to come cheap, with reports claiming his £68 million release clause will have to be met in full.
