Svante Ingelsson will be the perfect partner for Barry Bannan at Sheffield Wednesday

Sheffield Wednesday boss Rohl will have a clear vision as to what he will expect from his new arrival, which if successful could bring out the best in club captain Bannan.

Ingelsson may not have the goalscoring pedigree, however has the ability to succeed at doing the dirty work, which was the case for Hansa Rostock in his three seasons in Bundesliga 2.

Expect Ingelsson to cover every blade on the Hillsborough turf, with him having an engine that could last a full 90, or completely turn around a game if called upon from the bench.

Ingelsson is familiar with playing both attacking and more defensive in the centre, as well as occasionally being slotted at leftwing, which happened on a few occasions this campaign.

Standing at 6ft2, he’ll be utilised in breaking up the play in the centre of the park, whilst Bannan can focus on the playmaking.

It’d be very likely that both Bannan and Ingelsson are the starting midfield pair for Wednesday’s opening league clash at home to Plymouth Argyle.

For a free transfer, Rohl could have potentially unearthed a hidden gem who could be perfect for the German’s system.
