Heart doctor shares his top three supplements you should take for good cardiac health

A heart surgeon has revealed the three supplements you should be taking to live healthily and avoid cardiovascular issues.

“If I can only keep three supplements as a cardiac surgeon for heart health, here’s what they would be,” Dr. Jeremy London said on TikTok.

1. Omega-3 Fatty Acids

The first one is Omega-3 Fatty Acids, an incredible anti-inflammatory which can lower a type of fat that’s found in your blood called triglycerides, help regulate blood pressure and decrease your risk of heart disease.

Omega-3 fatty acids are found in fish and nuts and seeds, including flaxseed, chia seeds, and walnuts. The American Heart Association (AHA) recommends eating one to two servings of seafood per week to reduce your risk of some heart problems.

2. Magnesium

Next is Magnesium, which helps regulate muscle function, so you can see a direct improvement in blood pressure. It also helps to regulate heart rhythm, which in turn decreases the risk of cardiovascular events.

Your body needs Magnesium to help your muscles, nerves, and heart work properly, MedlinePlus explains. It’s also important for healthy bones and a good immune system, and is found in nuts, seeds, beans, green leafy vegetables, and milk.

3. Coenzyme Q10

His third most important supplement for heart health is Coenzyme Q10, a powerful antioxidant which is essential for the heart muscle. It reduces the oxidative stress, which increases blood flow in the vessels and decreases heart disease risk.
