Nottingham Forest agree deal for 'excellent' Premier League player, medical will be booked very soon - journalist

Nottingham Forest are going to go in a search for a number of players this summer and another signing looks to be very close to completion.

The Reds are looking set to meet with the PSR stipulations and that should mean that they avoid another points deduction.

Moussa Niakhate and Orel Mangala are heading to Lyon and that will mean that Forest are all set ahead of the new season.

With that behind them,Forest will now go in search of some new players and last night, David Ornstein provided some new information.

Forest are seemingly gaining closer to a new recruit and it could be another promising addition to the ranks.

Nottingham Forest edge close to Elliot Anderson deal

According to David Ornstein, Forest are now getting close to the addition of Newcastle star Elliot Anderson.

The young midfielder actually scored against Forest last season but his celebrations were shortlived as VAR intervened and denied the goal.

Now, the 21-year-old player is going to depart, with Forest agreeing terms and booking Anderson in for a medical at the City Ground.

Newcastle are struggling themselves to comply with the PSR regulations and they have accepted the advances of Forest for Anderson.

The Whitley Bay native made 26 appearances for Newcastle last season and registered two assists for the club.

Now, it looks like a deal for Anderson to come to the City Ground is in process and the Reds are adding another youngster to their ranks.

It would seem that Forest are going to pay around £10 million to sign Anderson and that does represent pretty decent business.

Anderson could star at Forest

Yesterday, it was claimed that Anthony Elanga was on the radar of Newcastle.

Hopefully, this deal doesn’t mean that Forest are going to flog the Sweden star on the cheap and the deal is entirely separate.

Forest are hoping to target a host of younger players this summer and Anderson could be the first of many players under 24 who sign for the club.

The talented player has declared his international allegiances to Scotland and he can perhaps count himself unlucky not to go to the Euros this summer.

Nonetheless, he will now be hoping to play regular football and Anderson will feel that he can do that at Forest next season.

Eddie Howe is actually a big fan of Anderson and called him‘excellent‘ last season.

Now, Anderson has it all to do to impress the Reds fan base but it does feel as though the Reds are now gaining closer to another addition.
