Report: Arsenal could send bid for 'powerful' £38m Euro 2024 star if they sell Jakub Kiwior this summer

After making a recent enquiry, Arsenal could now propose a bid for a defender starring at Euro 2024 if they sell Jakub Kiwior.

Despite playing for Mikel Arteta on 30 occasions last season, Kiwior has often been linked with a move away from the Emirates this summer.

Antonio Conte’s Napoli are the latest Serie A team to register their interest in Kiwior, hoping to tempt the Poland international back to Italy.

And to that end, TBR recently shared that Kiwior could be interested in a switch to the Serie A, having left Spezia to join Arsenal.

Now on his holidays having exited Euro 2024, it seems more likely that Kiwior will be considered as a left-sided centre-back at Arsenal once again next season.

Kiwior thrived at times as a full-back, but was never envisioned to play in the position long-term, explaining why his eventual shortcomings in the role shouldn’t be a concern.

That being said, Mirror Sport have shared a report detailing how Kiwior’s future is linked to Arsenal’s interest in Riccardo Calafiori.

Arsenal’s move for Bologna’s Riccardo Calafiori will depend on Jakub Kiwior’s future

It doesn’t seem a coincidence that Italy were so poor against Switzerland in the absence of Calafiori on Saturday, who was suspended.

The Bologna defender has captured a lot of interest with his ‘powerful’ performances in Germany, demonstrating his readiness to move to a top club.

And although Bologna will play in the Champions League next season, it seems unlikely that they will be able to keep hold of the £38m-rated defender.

Arsenal are said to be one of a host of English clubs vying for Calafiori’s signature, alongside Serie A giants Juventus.

But a new report from the Mirror explains that Arsenal will only make their move for Calafiori if Kiwior is sold to Juventus or AC Milan, who are interested.

Arsenal have made an enquiry for the Italian, but perhaps won’t press ahead unless Kiwior’s exit materialises.

Judging by Kiwior’s poor performances at Euro 2024, Calafiori may be a considerable upgrade on the Polish international.

But Arsenal will have to consider if Calafiori would benefit from or even consider playing a back-up role to Gabriel Magalhaes in a similar vein to Kiwior does currently.

All that being said, German media have now been reacting to Kai Havertz’s latest performance at Euro 2024.
