Report: Arsenal remain interested in 'world class' Euro 2024 star but he's desperate to join Man City

Arsenal could miss out on a Euro 2024 star to Manchester City, according to a recent report.

The Gunners will be closely monitoring a number of players at the European Championships in Germany this summer as they look to assemble a squad capable of winning the Premier League title.

Having ran City so close last term, it’s evident that they’re only one or two top-quality additions away from surmounting them.

Though, with that said, it seems they could miss out on a rumoured target to their title rivals.

Arsenal remain interested in Joshua Kimmich

According to The Mirror, Arsenal remain interested in Bayern Munich and Germany star Joshua Kimmich this summer.

The ‘world class’ German, as quoted by Julian Nagelsmann on the official Bundesliga website, is currently away with the national team at Euro 2024 and has played every minute, helping his side to reach the quarter-finals.

The Gunners admire his versatility and are keen to land his signature this summer with his price tag expected to be discounted due to his contract – which expires next year.

However, Kimmich is thought to be desperate for a move to Manchester City, where he can reunite with his former manager Pep Guardiola.

City are interested in doing a deal to sign the 29-year-old.

Arsenal should focus on other targets

It seems a really tricky deal to do for Arsenal so rather than getting caught up in any forthcoming transfer saga, they should turn their attention to Fedi Kadioglu, who is also an extremely versatile defender.

Further, the Turkey international plies his trade at left-back – which is more of a priority position for Mikel Arteta with Oleksandr Zinchenko not quite making the grade.

Jakub Kiwior has also been mooted with a summer exit, so it seems that area needs addressing more than any other.
