Forest are ramping up their efforts to sign new players this summer.

So far, Marko Stamenic has signed and been loaned to Olympiacos, whilst Erik da Silva Moreira has also been added to the ranks.

Now, it looks as though an established Premier League player is set to sign for Forest, with Anderson close to a switch to the East Midlands.

Given that the deal is now close, it’s been reported exactly how much Forest are going to pay for the midfielder – and it might come as a surprise.

How much Nottingham Forest will pay for Elliot Anderson

Well, this might come as a shock to some supporters, with Forest now looking set to add another player to their ranks.

Anderson is going to check in and it’s being claimed by Sky Sports reports Keith Downie that Forest will pay £35 million.

The Reds are going to eclipse their record transfer fee if this is the case – although it’s not clear at this stage how the deal will be structured.

Anderson has played a number of games under Eddie Howe at Newcastle and they’re running a tightrope when it comes to PSR.

Now, Forest are helping them meet the threshold for losses by adding their academy starlet Anderson to the City Ground ranks.

The youngster scored at the City Ground last season, although the goal was disallowed following a lengthy VAR check.

Anderson will have to prove himself at Forest

Okay, so £35 million does seem like a lot of money but Anderson does fit the profile of someone that Forest fans can get excited by.

The youngster is only going to improve and he has a considerable amount of Premier League experience already.

Newcastle wanted to keep Anderson at the club but selling him to Forest does allow them to keep their star players at St James’ Park.

Naturally, Forest fans are a little shocked at the hefty transfer fee and now he will have to prove himself at the City Ground.

Still, there is a lot to like about this deal and hopefully Anderson can provide some useful competition for places in Nuno Espirito Santo’s squad.
