Previous report suggests that Nuno Espirito Santo will now be gutted about Nottingham Forest decision

Things appear to be moving quickly at Nottingham Forest when it comes to the club getting things prepared for the PSR deadline.

For weeks, it’s been mooted that the cut-off for the latest cycle is 30th June and Forest are hoping to avoid another points deduction.

The Reds are now cranking up their efforts to offload some players with Moussa Niakhate on the verge of joining Lyon it would seem.

The 28-year-old signed for Forest from Mainz in the summer of 2022 shortly after Forest had won promotion back to the Premier League.

Now, a report has shared what Nuno Espirito Santo thinks about the decision made by the club to offload Niakhate this summer.

Report claims how Nuno Espirito Santo will feel at Moussa Niakhate sale

It would appear that Forest are going to be without Niakhate next season, with Lyon now booking the player in for a medical.

If we go back to a report at the beginning of June, it appears that Espirito Santo isn’t going to be overly pleased about this.

It was claimed by The Athletic then that any sale for Niakhate would be vetoed by Espirito Santo a huge fan of the player.

Now, he’s going to have to take his medicine as the club have decided he’s the fall guy in the quest to meet the next PSR cycle’s requirements.

Niakhate made a number of appearances under Espirito Santo last season and featured in the last five games as Forest stayed in the Premier League.

Forest will now have to appease Espirito Santo with new signings

Although the head coach perhaps won’t be too happy with this he will have to understand it’s a case of needs must for the football club.

However, he will now have every right to demand that the hierarchy bring new players to the football club before the season starts.

Defenders will absolutely be a must. Murillo is being courted by Chelsea, leaving Willy Boly and Andrew Omobamidele as the only enforcers in the ranks.

The profit that Forest can make from Niakhate will take them close to the PSR requirements but the board have to tread carefully when it comes to the morale of the head coach.
