Report: Arsenal decide they want £25m for their ‘exceptional’ player, but he wants to stay

Arsenal may face a difficult task when it comes to offloading a player who started just three Premier League games last season.

Mikel Arteta is expected to oversee plenty of change this summer as he bids to deliver a league title to the Emirates Stadium. The Gunners missed out by just two points last time out and are expected to bolster Arteta’s squad again over the coming weeks.

There will also be plenty of focus on possible outgoings, with a host of players struggling for minutes under the Spaniard last season.

The likes of Eddie Nketiah, Aaron Ramsdale, Reiss Nelson and Emile Smith Rowe have all been tipped to head out the door.

But according to The Sun, the latter is in no rush to secure a move away from north London.

Arsenal set Emile Smith Rowe price

The Sun reports that Arsenal want £25 million for Smith Rowe this summer. However, the midfielder is apparently in no rush to leave his boyhood club.

Smith Rowe barely featured under Arteta last term and managed just three starts in the league, registering one assist.

Despite a lack of game time, the 23-year-old is keen to remain at Arsenal with Crystal Palace said to be interested in signing him.

Brighton also keen on Smith Rowe

Smith Rowe certainly isn’t short of interest in the Premier League and has received admiring glances from Fulham. Marco Silva’s men were reportedly in talks with Arsenal over a move for Smith Rowe.

TBR Football also revealed just last month that Brighton have looked into a move for the Arsenal academy product.

With Arteta set to strengthen his options in midfield once again this summer, you can’t help but feel a move would be best for Smith Rowe’s career.

The ‘exceptional’ midfielder has struggled for game time over the past couple of seasons after enjoying a brilliant breakthrough year during the 2021/22 campaign.
