'Life of the party' TV star dies at 33 after dealing with 'struggles' in life

Original MAFS New Zealand star Andrew Jury has sadly passed away. The Three show participant was 33 years old at the time of his death. His former co-stars from season 1 reportedly shared the tragic news of his passing in a joint Instagram post.

When fans first met Married At First Sight New Zealand star Andrew Jury he worked as a builder and was living in Auckland. Andrew’s MAFS season aired in 2017 when he was 26 years old. At the time, the star was living in a house share and said he was looking to settle down with a “caring” partner, per his show bio.

Andrew Jury passes away

Married At First Sight New Zealand star Andrew Jury has passed away this June, writes The Daily Mail.

According to reports, his former co-stars Brett and Angel Renall and Benjamin Blackwell share the news in a joint IG post.

The statement reads: “It’s with the heaviest hearts we’ve come together to acknowledge the passing of Andrew Jury…”

He was 33 years old.

Andrew’s fans pay tribute

During his time on MAFS, Andrew formed a relationship with bride Vicky Gleeson-Stokes. They were together throughout the show but ended their relationship back in the outside world.

Following his reality TV stardom, it appears Andrew continued to work in the building trade per his Instagram bio.

According to his co-stars’ Instagram post, Andrew was the “life of the party” who was appreciative to appear on the MAFS series:

“We had the absolute pleasure of filming and participating in a show which leaves us intricately linked for a lifetime. Despite his struggles, Andrew was always friendly and the life of the party during our shared experience and he really valued his time on the show.

“At this time our entire cast wish to send our deepest condolences and love to his family – Ben, Angel, Brett, Vicky, Haydn, Lacey, Claire, Dom, Aaron, Luke, Belinda.”

Following the tragic news, the New Zealand Herald reports a Warner Bros Discovery spokesperson said: “Warner Bros Discovery expresses our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Andrew Jury.”

“WBD takes duty of care extremely seriously and has protocols in place regarding the wellbeing of cast and crew. All MAFS NZ contributors have access to mental health professionals throughout the process, including pre-screening, during production and after broadcast.”
