There's more than meets the eye when it comes to celebrity diets, says nutritionist

When you see Kylie Jenner, her superstar sibling Kendall, or Olivia Rodrigo enjoying a high-calorie treat, one question always daunts the mind – How do they not gain weight?

A certified nutritionist reveals the truth behind viral social media posts of most “fit” and “thin” celebrities with junk food, so you aren’t easily fooled by anything and everything you see.

Truth behind pictures of celebrities with junk food

I wouldn’t lie there have been times I was tempted to eat a greasy burger or a creamy dessert after seeing Instagram posts of famous and fit celebrities enjoying any food normally considered unhealthy.

But I could never stop thinking about their sculpted bodies and how they manage to stay in shape despite eating everything their heart desires.

While I thought consistent workouts and immense determination to stay fit is what it takes for someone to indulge in such a diet, a nutritionist claims there’s more to these tempting pictures than meets the eye.

Certified nutritionist Ilana Muhlstein Aka NutritionBabe on TikTok claims there’s no truth to the popular belief that famous stars “can eat whatever they want and not gain weight?”

“I’m here to tell you that’s bulls***. One of my favorite things to do is to find celebrity private chefs on social media, so you can see what they’re actually eating on a daily basis,” she says.

She goes on to claim that Olivia Rodrigo typically eats a bowl of fruits and yogurt on the day of a performance to start her day. The rest of her diet for the day includes salmon with eggplant, greens, chicken drumsticks, and veggies.

Even if celebrities eat snacks off camera, most of their diet is “highly nutritious” with unprocessed food and little or no sugar.

Ilana Muhlstein is a licensed nutritionist and dietician, known for her 100-pound weight loss transformation which she uses to educate her followers about a healthy lifestyle. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in nutrition and dietetics, a registered dietitian license, and a master’s degree in nutrition and dietetics.

What you should ideally eat to feel ‘energized’

The Focus spoke to certified nutritionist Emily Van Eck to understand what makes a perfect breakfast, so one remains energized throughout the day.

As the first meal of the day is important to fuel your body and mind after a good night’s rest, you’re supposed to eat a balanced and wholesome diet.

Emily said that what’s best for you to eat in the morning depends on several factors such as your schedule, preferences, individual body, and health.

Although a balanced diet includes protein, fiber, carbohydrates, and fats, says the dietician, she generally recommends protein-forward, balanced breakfasts.

According to Emily “Eggs are a great protein and fat, so just add some carbohydrates and fiber, and you’ll be set.” You can also use another source of protein like yogurt.

As far as an “ideal breakfast” is concerned, she suggests: “A small bowl of beans in broth, topped with 1 or 2 eggs (cooked however you want them), 1/4 cup of fermented vegetables such as sauerkraut, and topped with hot sauce.”
