Southwell Minster School students raise £2763.18 for Beaumond House Hospice Care, Newark, in Young Enterprise 10X Challenge

Entrepreneurial students have raised over £2,700 for charity.

Students at the Minster School, Southwell, took part in the Young Enterprise 10X Challenge, and donated their earnings to Beaumond House Hospice Care.

Each team of students begins the challenge with £10, and are tasked with creating a product or service which they can start with only the £10 investment and make as much profit as possible over a four-week period.

Overall, a total of £2763.18 was raised for Beaumond House — which was voted by students to be the chosen charity from a list of local good causes.

The winning enterprise team this year planned and delivered a concert at All Hallows Church in Gedling, and also created and sold products such as key rings and candles.

Other teams involved in the competition made and sold products such as lavender bags, personalised cups and terrariums and provided services including car washing and dog walking.
