Crystal Palace now release first images of Chadi Riad in training after £15m move

After over a month off, Crystal Palace are now starting to get back into gear ahead of the 2024/25 season with Chadi Riad among those in training.

The Euros are in full swing, but back at Copers Cope preparations are already underway ahead of the 2024/25 which promises to be an exciting one for Crystal Palace.

Joachim Andersen has already stated his lofty ambitions with European football as the target and so far this summer the recruitment has matched up to those expectations.

Chadi Riad and Daichi Kamada have already arrived, while Ryan Sessegnon has been training with Palace this week as preseason starts in a bid to win a contract.

Now, photos have emerged from pre-season training and it shows Riad in action for the first time as an Eagles player.

Chadi Riad spotted in Crystal Palace training

A few weeks after Palace announced the arrival of Riad for £15m, he’s already in training and Oliver Glasner will be getting a good look at him.

Now, the club have released some photos of this via the official X account which shows the Moroccan in the new training gear and doing drills.

Riad already looks a natural at Copers Cope and donning the Palace training kit which makes us excited to see him in game action for the first time.

This follows posts earlier on Tuesday which showed Matheus Franca and Joel Ward arriving at Copers Cope and also Cheick Doucoure in the training gear as he looks to bounce back strong this season after missing over six months through injury.

Chadi Riad has a golden opportunity

For Riad, the next few weeks see him with a massive opportunity to firmly lodge himself into the mind of Glasner in terms of the centre-back pecking order.

This is because Chris Richards (USA), Andersen (Denmark) and also Marc Guehi (England) will all be absent until middle to late July having all taken or taking part in the Copa America or Euros this summer.

So with the three first-choice centre-halves gone, Riad will have a golden chance to impress and make himself undroppable for the upcoming season.

With a friendly on July 16th against Bromley cancelled, as of now Riad’s debut could come against Crawley Town on July 27th – although we imagine there will be games added, potentially behind closed doors.
