Report: Inter Miami could now find it impossible to sign Alexis Sanchez as transfer decision is made

Inter Miami could reportedly be out of the race to sign Chilean international Alexis Sanchez with the attacker now outlying his transfer intentions.

The former Inter Milan superstar has emerged as a target for the Herons this summer, with Sanchez currently weighing up his options this summer having recently left the Serie A champions after the expiration of his contract.

At 35-years-old, it makes sense why MLS could be an option for Sanchez to pursue this summer, with the winger a former teammate of Lionel Messi having spent three years at FC Barcelona, winning the FIFA Club World Cup and a La Liga title.

Yet it now appears that Sanchez has ruled himself out of joining Inter Miami or even heading to America.

Sanchez set on joining UEFA Champions League side despite Inter Miami links

According to Mondo Udinese, Sanchez has his heart set on joining a club competing in the UEFA Champions League this summer, ruling out Inter Miami’s chances of landing the former Arsenal superstar this window.

With the veteran attacker clearly still keen to play at the highest level in soccer, it’s easy to see why Sanchez might not be sold just yet on a move to MLS having just won the Serie A title with Inter this year.

However, this update should not rule Inter Miami out of the race for Sanchez just yet, with the attacker still yet to put pen-to-paper with a club and officially join a team this summer.

Indeed, there’s a real chance that Sanchrz can go the entire window without signing for a club, and if that were to happen, Inter Miami could striker once the summer has passed to sign the Chilean international.

Inter Miami might have to play the waiting game to secure next superstar signing

With Messi, Luis Suarez and Leonardo Campana on their books as well as Matias Rojas, it’s safe to say that the Herons aren’t exactly in a rush to sign a player like Sanchez this summer.

With the forward also keen to join a top European side, Inter Miami are currently in no position to move for Sanchez, who could well join one of the many sides making their debut in this season’s Champions League.

Yet for Inter Miami, playing the waiting game could be worth it to sign Sanchez, who despite his age is still physically incredible, and the veteran could be exceptional in MLS for the Florida franchise.
