£17m star who has 'agreed' to join Arsenal has now done something quite incredible at Euro 2024

A Euro 2024 star who has reportedly agreed to a move to Arsenal already this transfer window has now achieved something incredible at this summer’s tournament.

The competition is down to the last eight teams with the quarter-finals set to kick-off this Friday with some mouthwatering ties, namely Germany taking on the favourites Spain with France also facing Portugal on the same day.

Arguably the surprise team to make it to this stage of the competition is Turkey, who last night beat Austria in a thrilling match in Leipzig, where Vincenzo Montella’s side came away with a 2-1 win after a dramatic game.

And one of Turkey’s star players, linked with a move to Arsenal, has now managed something quite unique at this summer’s Euros.

Arsenal-linked Ferdi Kadioglu a creative and defensive fiend at Euro 2024

As per Squawka, Turkey defender Ferdi Kadioglu is the only player at this summer’s Euros to make 5+ tackles, make 5+ interceptions, win 5+ duels and complete 5+ take-ons, with the fullback creating the joint most chances alongside Liverpool’s Cody Gakpo with 11.

With Kadioglu reportedly ‘agreeing’ to join Arsenal already this summer, it’s quite apparent already that the Gunners might have to pay over the odds to land the £17m-rated Fenerbahce star after the Euros.

The 24-year-old defender, who can play both left-back and right-back, has been one of the stars of the tournament this summer in Germany, with Kadioglu in top form last night for Turkey against Austria.

And after these latest stats from Squawka, it’s clear that Arsenal could soon find more competition in the works for Kadioglu, who after the Euros could be on the radar for most top European clubs as attention shifts to the transfer window.

Kadioglu has taken his reputation to new levels this Euros

Heading into Euro 2024, Kadioglu had the potential to become one of the breakout stars at the competition given how exciting this Turkey team is and how good the defender was at club level last season.

And with a quarter-final appearance against the Netherlands now on the horizon, Kadioglu has seen his reputation hit new levels this summer at the Euros, where a move to Arsenal could now be on the cards for the defender.

Indeed, a versatile fullback is exactly what Mikel Arteta is looking for in this market, and based off performances this summer in Germany, Kadioglu could be perfect for the role, especially for a price as low as £17m.
