Tottenham Hotspur want to sign Euro 2024 winger praised by Ange Postecoglou last week

Tottenham Hotspur continue to chase new signings this summer despite finalising the signing of Leeds United wonderkid Archie Gray.

Ange Postecoglou had already seen two deals secured ahead of Tottenham Hotspur’s pre-season preparations.

Lucas Bergvall agreed to join from Djurgardens in February before Timo Werner signed a new loan deal from RB Leipzig.

Tottenham have now followed that up with another deal, bringing in wonderkid Archie Gray from Leeds United.

Gray has joined in a £40million move with defender Joe Rodon heading the other way in a £10million move.

Gray adds depth in midfield and even at right back, but Tottenham will continue to chase new signings this summer.

Tottenham Hotspur want Desire Doue and Pedro Neto

Further additions are needed in other areas and Tottenham are interested in two exciting players.

Paul O’Keefe reports on social media that Tottenham are showing a ‘firm interest’ in signing Rennes talent Desire Doue.

Doue has emerged as a real talent in France and bagged four goals and five assists in 31 Ligue 1 games last season.

The 19-year-old predominantly played as a left-sided winger but can also operate on the right or even as a number 10.

Doue fits the bill as another exciting young talent for Tottenham to bring in and he could become the next priority after Gray’s arrival.

O’Keefe also notes that Tottenham are once again considering a move for Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Pedro Neto.

O’Keefe suggests that Tottenham ‘previously edged away’ from Neto but he is now ‘back under consideration’.

Neto racked up nine assists alongside two goals in 20 appearances for Wolves last season but once again suffered more injury problems.

Now at Euro 2024, Neto has suffered major injury woes in recent years and that may well be the reason why Tottenham had initially backed away.

Ange Postecoglou on Neto

Tottenham boss Postecoglou has been on punditry duty on English TV this summer and talked about Neto last week.

Speaking on ITV, Postecoglou suggested that Neto had caused Tottenham ‘all sorts of problems’ and was a handful against Spurs.

Postecoglou feels that Neto would have been one of the Premier League’s top performers this past season if it hadn’t been for injuries, backing him to still be on the radars of top clubs.

“Apart from his hamstring issues, he would have set the Premier League alight this year,” said Postecoglou. “Every time he played, he was a handful. When we played against him, he caused us all sorts of problems and he’ll be on some big clubs’ radars,” he added.

Postecoglou clearly has real admiration for Neto, but whether Tottenham actually make a move or not remains to be seen.

Much will come down to the verdict on Neto’s injury record and whether Tottenham really feel confident enough in him to invest a hefty fee.
