Report: Murillo recommended £4m-rated player in January and now Forest are going to sign him

Nottingham Forest are now going to sign a player who is available at a bargain price and who Murillo has been waiting for the club to sign for six months.

It’s looking like being another busy transfer window for Forest – with several players set to arrive and a number of others looking likely to leave.

So far, a host of out-of-contract players have departed, with Odysseas Vlachodimos also leaving to join Newcastle.

Incoming business has been slow so far – although that was to be expected. Marko Stamenic has signed by joined Olympiacos on loan, Eric da Silva Moreira has joined from St Pauli and Elliot Anderson checked in from Newcastle.

Now, it’s been claimed thatForest are set to sign a player that they were recommended by Murillo back in January.

Murillo recommended Carlos Miguel to Forest in January

The Forest defender has been speaking with Benja Me Mucho on his YouTube channel and he’s claimed that the signing of Miguel is a long time coming.

The Reds are set to land the goalkeeper for £4 million from Corinthians, with the 6ft 8in goalkeeper signing to bolster the competition for Matz Sels‘ place.

It’s been claimed by Murillo that he actually recommended Miguel in January when Forest were searching for a new stopper.

Both Vlachodimos and Matt Turner had failed to impress Nuno Espirito Santo sufficiently and Forest identified a number of goalkeepers.

However, signing Miguel in January wasn’t possible and Forest have now been forced to wait until the summer to get their man.

Miguel could star at Forest

Clearly the Reds will have done their due diligence on the new stopper and hopefully, he can star on Trentside.

Forest have to get the goalkeeper situation right this time around and in fairness, Sels has been largely impressive since he came in.

Having two strong goalkeepers can only bode well and it would appear that this signing will be a popular one in the eyes of Murillo.

Miguel looks like the type of goalkeeper who can cause a bit of a stir – much like Brice Samba did in a couple of senses.

He recently made a brilliant save to dive across his line at full stretch against Sao Paulo and in the same match picked up a yellow card for defending his teammate and shoving a player to the floor.

Signing Miguel looks like an astute piece of business and maybe it might convince Murillo to stay for one more season too.
