Fortnite: Clix Vs. MackWood Gets Personal After Trio Split

A trio split in the Fortnite scene leads to death threats and personal insults.

Tensions are high in Fortnite’s NA East region ahead of this season’s Fortnite Champion Series (FNCS). While the early going featured many unexpected trip changes, a recent conflict between professional players Mack “G2 MackWood” Aesoph and Cody “NRG Clix” Conrod has reached a boiling point. A seemingly straightforward team break-up produced a world of drama between the two, and it’s become personal.

MackWood Leaves Clix & Bucke

)

The exact story is unclear, but there appears to have been a falling out between the once-promising trio of MackWood, Clix and Logan “BBG Bucke'' Eschenburg during this evening’s Bugha’s Late Game Test Event. MackWood, a player for G2 Esports, became angry with Clix and Bucke and left the two while the event was still in progress. Soon after, MackWood took to Twitter with his response and explicitly to Clix’s fans directing hate at him.

“its funny how all the clix fans are attacking me when off stream he says he hates you all and doesnt want to stream long term LOL and just wants all the money so he can dip.”

MackWood continued, calling Clix fans brainwashed, and later sarcastically thanked his new adversary for bringing his personal life into the conflict.

The Argument Gets Personal

)

The G2 Esports member posted a tweet stating that Clix’s words led to death threats toward MackWood’s girlfriend.

“shoutout clix for bringing my personal life into the situation and putting my girlfriend on stream calling her a clout chaser and gold digger and all sorts of s*** in front of tens of thousands of people, now she gets to receive death threats too for no reason thanks bro.”

Clix Fires Back

)

Clix continued streaming after MackWood left the test event but went on Twitter after he ended his stream. The NRG player explained his side of the story in a series of tweets.

“we were playin the game n [sic] havin fun since its a test event and he got annoyed and left, if your that mad that i posted w public picture of him on the internet your soft asf,” he wrote.

Clix defended himself, saying that he showed a public tweet of MackWood and his girlfriend together, which had over 3K likes. Unfortunately, MackWood’s personal information leaked, but Clix claims he took no part in that.

MackWood Speaks on Hate from Clix’s Community

)

MackWood posted another tweet in response to someone who said Clix didn’t want this to happen.

“what do you mean clix didnt want this type of s*** to happen? he pulled up pictures of me & people in my personal life for hours and constantly talked s*** about me,” he tweeted. “He [Clix] may not have said to go find my information but he knows what happens when he sends hate with his community.”

There’s no shortage of drama in the Fortnite scene, and it’s safe to say the days of MackWood and Clix teaming are more than likely over. Now, it seems Clix and Bucke are searching for one for the Fortnite Champion Series as MackWood hopes to find a team of two. We’ll have to wait and see what more develops in this growing conflict.
