The 2022 Ford Bronco is set to launch next year, as the 2021 Ford Bronco currently trickles out of the gate. The updated Bronco is expected to add a few cool updates, highlighted by the Bronco Raptor, aka Warthog. A more minor update, however, is the addition of a highly sought after hue: green. in this case, it’s Eruption Green Metallic. Yeah, it’s a weird name, but at least you don’t have to explain it. This dark, forest shade is exactly what the new Bronco needed.

Ford Motor Company says that Eruption Green will be available on every 2022 Bronco trim level, just like the Sasquatch Package. Leading up to this moment, Ford has previously teased a green hue which was rumored to be called Sage Green, as well as a one-off seafoam green color with the Filson Fire Rig concept. Turns out that’s not true. And the facts have, uh, erupted, at the 2021 Woodward Dream Cruise. A “Heritage Edition” Bronco has also been rumored for 2022, but that remains to be seen.
Ford says that Eruption Green Metallic on the 2022 Bronco is a modern interpretation of Mallard Green, which was featured on first-generation Bronco models in the early- to mid-1970s.
That’s not all, the 2022 Ford Bronco will also debut another color soon: Hot Pepper Red Metallic. Antimatter Blue, Lightning Blue Metallic, and Rapid Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat will be available exterior color options until the end of the 2021 model year. Orders for 2022 Bronco two-door and four-door with Eruption Green and Hot Pepper Red will open later this year, should things go according to plan. Pricing has not yet been announced.
