'Buffy The Vampire Slayer' Star Nicholas Brendon Arrested For Providing False Information To Score Prescription Drugs While On Probation

Former Buffy the Vampire Slayer star Nicholas Brendon's legal woes continue to mount.

The 50-year-old actor was arrested and charged with providing false information, including giving a fake name and/or address to score prescription drugs.

Brendon was taken into custody on August 18 in Vigo County, Indiana, according to Radar. He obtained “legend drugs” according to the outlet.

His initial hearing took place on Monday, where a jury trial was scheduled for February 15, 2022.

The Criminal Minds alum was staring down a four-year jail sentence before striking a plea deal for probation after he allegedly attacked his girlfriend at a Palm Springs hotel in 2017. His original felony charge was reduced to misdemeanor domestic battery.

The actor — who has been open about his past struggles with depression, alcohol and substance abuse — was accused of grabbing his girlfriend “violently” by the hair at a bar inside the Saguaro Hotel.

Brendon posted bail after his arrest and wasn’t formally charged until April 2019. His plea deal requires him to serve three years of probation and complete a 52-week domestic violence course as well as 20 hours of community service.

He was also ordered to stay away from the victim only identified as “Jane Doe” in court documents for three years.

“When somebody holds a knife to your throat, it changes you as a person, and it changes you forever,” his then-girlfriend tearfully told the court at his plea hearing while describing the emotional toll her relationship with Brendon took on her. “I can never erase the pictures in my mind of being strangled and thrown across the room, or being covered in bruises, bite marks and scratches, all because I tried to care for someone.”

The writer, most known as Xander on Buffy, has a sordid history with the law. Since 2004, he’s been arrested for crimes including grand theft, resisting arrest and vandalism in several cities, including Los Angeles, Calif.; Boise, Idaho and Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

He pleaded guilty to criminal mischief in New York after being arrested for allegedly grabbing his then-girlfriend by the throat in 2015.
