'The Wendy Williams Show' Teases Its Big Return Following The Talk Show Host's Breakthrough COVID Case & Health Battle

The date has been set for Wendy Williams' grand return to the purple chair!

On Tuesday, September 28, the official Instagram account for The Wendy Williams Show posted a 20-second-long video teaser along with the caption, "THE WAIT IS OVER! Season 13 starts MONDAY. You don’t wanna miss it!"

The announcement comes after the 57-year-old tested positive for a breakthrough case of COVID-19 and took time off as she battled other health-related issues. As OK! previously reported, Williams' team postponed the season's original September 20 launch date after learning of the former radio DJ's diagnosis.

At the time, creatives behind the chat show took to Instagram on September 15, as they explained, "While continuing her health evaluations, Wendy has tested positive for a breakthrough case of COVID-19. To allow Wendy time to quarantine and fully recover and to ensure that our production abides by all SAG/AFTRA and DGA Covid protocols, we expect to begin the 13th season of The Wendy Williams Show on Monday, October 4."

The news of the show's return came as a relief for Wendy Watchers as reports were speculating that Williams would be hospitalized for "weeks."

Following her hospitalization, a source told The Sun that the media personality would be “evaluated for weeks to determine what is going on with her, both mentally and physically,” and that the show's premiere date would possibly be once again delayed.
