The Jeep Wrangler 4xe has been quite the hit for Stellantis, as it’s considered the fastest selling plug-in hybrid on the market today. But with the global supply chain in a stranglehold for the foreseeable future, the popular SUV is rumored to be “sold out“. However, those that still want one are still likely to get one, according to Jeep North America President Jim Morrison.
“We have enough Wrangler 4xe dealer orders to get us through the end of the year,” said Morrison. “We are still within that prioritizing of our customer orders. So if a customer comes in and gets a sold order, we’ll still put them in at the head of the line.”
Jeep Versus Ford Versus Chips
The Canadian-American, who has been making waves lately with his words towards Ford’s recent expansion in to Jeep’s territory, says that Jeep Wrangler 4xe availability is largely due to the formation of Stellantis – the merger between America’s FCA (Jeep, Dodge, Ram, Chrysler, Fiat, Alfa Romeo) and France’s PSA Groupe, which umbrellas brands like Peugeot, Citroen and Opel.
“That’s one of the benefits of an expanded global company,” he said. “With our extra volume, we’re able to source and juggle chips. I need to take the opportunity to thank our supply chain people, because they’ve been working around the clock since January.”

The Jeep Wrangler 4xe comes in three trim levels, with Sahara being the entry level, Rubicon being the off-road performance model, and High Altitude filling the luxury slot. The non-4xe Wrangler is offered in significantly more trim levels, but if the 4xe is successful, they could make their way to the hybrid. All 4xe models are primarily distinguished by teal badging on the side fenders.
The Jeep Wrangler Sahara 4xe starts at $48,240. It’s further differentiated from the non-hybrid Sahara with black trim and wheels, whereas the regular Sahara has chrome trim. On the configurator, buyers are first greeted with a bright range of 12 colors, most of them being additional cost. Packages include a $995 Safety Group, $795 Advanced Safety Group, $995 Cold Weather Group, $30 Smoker Group and $795 Trailer and Heavy Duty Electrical Group. On the inside, buyers get a 8.4 inch touchscreen and the choice between tan and black leather. As per usual, there are a plethora of accessories and options on offer.
