With the debut of the 2022 Ford Maverick, there was a change in the wind. The “mini truck” is back, even though it’s far less mini than before. Of course, this excited builders peppered all over the West Coast. And whereas the Air Design Ford Maverick concept gives a glimpse at the off-road potential of the new truck, the Tucci Concept Maverick finds itself on the opposite spectrum, not focused on rugged off-road capability. But instead, this concept focuses on street performance and is very clearly inspired by race cars from generations past. And it has a center mounted Borla exhaust. When’s the last time you saw that on a truck?

This eye-catching Ford Maverick concept comes from Tucci Hot Rods is based on an XLT series Ford Maverick with a 2.0-liter EcoBoost and all-wheel drive. The truck is given a more muscular look with Tucci-made 3D-printed fender flares along with a 3D-printed front lip. A rally-inspired 3D-printed rear spoiler gives the Ford Maverick significant style, while fender arches also work to widen the vehicle. Performance gets increased with the help of coil-over shocks. A custom Borla cat-back exhaust with dual carbon fiber tips adds to a sportier sound, while meaty tires on custom wheels give the truck’s overall exterior appearance a retro feel.

The Tucci Maverick concept wears a few Ford Licensed Accessories, including a hard roll-up bed cover, spray-in bed liner, and tailgate spoiler. The cabin sports a Ford Licensed Accessories F200 IR dashcam, Ford Accessories windshield sunshade, four RECARO Sportster seats, racing harnesses, and custom-painted trim accents. The entire build comes together with an aggressive racecar look which isn’t exactly what one would expect from a tiny truck.
Overall, The Tucci Hot Rods 2022 Ford Maverick SEMA 2021 Concept was good enough to with a trophy from Ford Performance: best of the entire show stand. And there were about 40 vehicles to compete with. In short, this was no small feat, and we’re going to keep an eye on the aftermarket shop going forward.
