ROADSTER SHOP DEBUTS NEW OBS LOW-PRO GM TRUCK CHASSIS

Ok, this is sick. Just in from SEMA 2021 is the OBS Low-Pro chassis from Roadster Shop. Created to meet the growing demand for GMT400 parts and modifications, this all-new, unique, chassis and suspension package supports a shift in the usability and drivability of modified street trucks.

What makes the Roadster Shop OBS Low-Pro chassis so unique and cutting edge is that it offers that crazy laying-on-the-floor stance that builders and influencers love, but, for the first time ever, it doesn’t require bed floor modification. So now you can build a proper bagged truck and still retain the full functionality of your pickup bed for hauling, or storage, or whatever. Have your cake and eat it, too.

Roadster Shop OBS Low-Pro Chassis: For GMT 400 Trucks, With C7 Corvette Parts

According to Roadster Shop, the feat was accomplished thanks to the industry’s first low-profile, trailing arm, independent rear suspension system. The OBS Low-Pro’s fabricated trailing arms feature billet multi-link arms with airbag and cantilevered shock set up. The wheel carriers have C7 sealed wheel bearings and brake mounts.

The cantilever rear suspension is completely unique in this sector of the chassis aftermarket and is said to offer the most shock travel and accurate valving. DOM mandrel-bent sway bars and completely new front wishbone geometry also feature, plus a full unrestricted steering angle was engineered into the front suspension to maximize turning radius. Other front-end features include C7 spindles, and power rack & pinion steering.

The chassis itself starts with dual 5” inner and outer main frame rails for unmatched strength. The OBS Low-Pro retains the factory core support, body, and bumper mounts with integrated mounting points for all the air suspension’s ancillaries.

Front and rear track widths are big enough to permit the largest and most commonly available aftermarket wheel and tire packages. Even more importantly, Roadster Shop says the OBS Low-Pro chassis can accommodate all small-block, big-block, LS, and LT V8 engine and transmission combinations. An OEM GM Limited Slip Differential and 300m drive axles with 930 CVs are included.

Optional features include complete air suspension mounts and pneumatic hose routing, plus gas tank provisions, toe board clearance plates, battery boxes, and radiator mounts.

Damn, now I want one. Stay tuned to MC&T for more SEMA coverage as the week continues to roll on.
