Former Chief Minister and PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti on Thursday said that she was not being allowed to move outside her residence here to take “peaceful” protest demanding bodies of civilians killed in Hyderpora ‘encounter’.

She told GNS that there is a meeting of People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) also scheduled today.

“No not allowed to step out, wanted to visit Hyderpora also to take a peaceful protest. We also had a PAGD meeting, “ Mehbooba Mufti told GNS.

In a tweet she added, “Again under house arrest & PDPs @SAAQQIIB & @Suhail_Bukhari too have been arrested. The pattern of using innocent civilians as human shields & then denying their families the right to a decent burial shows that GOI has plumbed new depths of inhumanity.”

Earlier after police removed the families from the Press Colony to foil the protests, former chief minister, said, ” Instead of handing over mortal remains of the innocent civilians, police has arrested the family members for demanding the bodies of their loved ones. Unbelievably ruthless & insensitive. Least they can do is return the mortal remains immediately.”
