JAPAN TO GET CHEVROLET CAMARO WILD CHERRY EDITION, BUT IT WILL BE EXTREMELY RARE

The 2021 Chevrolet Camaro Wild Cherry Design Package only lasted for a year in the US market before replacing it with the new Design Package 3 for the 2022 model year. However, Japan is about to release a Wild Cherry Camaro of its own. But here’s the thing: there will only be 10 units available. That’s it. Deliveries of this special edition are expected to start in March of 2022.

The Wild Cherry Tintcoat paint was initially introduced for the 2021 model year, so for the United States, it’s nothing new. However, the scarce Wild Cherry Edition Camaro for Japan will have a sporty silver racing stripe adorning the hood, which gives a bit of contrast to the rest of the coloring. The silver works in tandem with the five split-spoke bright silver wheels, which gives the overall appearance a premium look.

Wild Cherry Edition Camaro Interior And Pricing

While General Motors has only released one image of the Wild Cherry Edition Camaro for its launch in Japan, which showcases the exterior, the cabin features a combination of jet black and adrenaline red that will coexist nicely with the outside of the car. As for the rest of the car’s characteristics, the Camaro will be the LT RS base model with the 2.0L LTG turbo engine that outputs 275 horsepower, and is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission.

Chevrolet has updated pricing for the entire Camaro range in Japan, with the Wild Cherry Edition Camaro priced at 5,690,000 yen ($52,608 USD), which is 300,000 yen ($2,635) more than the regular Camaro LT RS. Not bad, considering the rarity. Otherwise, 2022 Camaro convertible pricing is at 6,590,000 yen ($57,878 USD), with the Camaro SS sitting as the most expensive trim at 7,290,000 yen ($64,025 USD).
