2022 GMC SIERRA 1500 BUILD AND PRICE CONFIGURATOR IS LIVE

The 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 seeks to plop Big Red back on top of the leaderboards of what it means to be a luxury pickup truck. In the past 3-4 years, we saw Ford Motor Company and Ram make headway in the the Sierra’s territory when it came to premium content, but with new trim levels like the Sierra Denali Ultimate, GMC seeks to steer the conversation back into its favor, while announcing a more serious entry into the off-road performance space in the Sierra AT4X.

2022 GMC Sierra AT4 Build And Price Configurator

What’s immediately apparent is that the 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 concentrates all of the desired content and packages into a single body style: the crew cab short box. Want the top-shelf Sierra Denali Ultimate? Crew cab short box. Want the go-anywhere AT4X? Crew cab short box.

The 2022 GMC 1500 AT4X – which is priced from $74,400 USD – we configured came out to $82,420, as it comes almost fully loaded, leaving only room for off-road and performance upgrades and accessories like rocker rails and a cat-back exhaust. A roof-mounted tent was our go-to accessory.

As expensive as it is, the 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4X is underpowered compared to the Ram 1500 TRX and Ford F-150 Raptor, which can be had for less money, and really don’t exceed the price range of the GMC until they go past the $85,000 range, which they do. Customers will be left with an interesting choice: posh off-roading with the Sierra AT4X, or more hardcore performance in the form of the still-premium feeling Raptor and TRX.

The Sierra Denali Ultimate, meanwhile, crests $90,000 USD with options. The luxury truck is destined to be the flagship of GMC, so it makes sense that the brand did whatever it could to ensure that GM Super Cruise technology would be available at the launch, unlike what we see with the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado High Country. However, the configurator currently lists the truck as “not equipped with front or rear park assist,” as GM continues to battle the global microchip shortage. As a result, a $50 credit is tacked onto the sticker price of this $90,565 truck.
