2023 RAM HD REBEL APPEARS TO BE IN DEVELOPMENT

As the Ram HD lineup enters the 2023 model year, a mid-cycle update is anticipated. With that could come new packages, tweaked looks, and even more technology. And one such addition to the Ram HD lineup could be a “Rebel” version, which could deliver on rugged off-road looks and hardware, while slotting below the range-topping Power Wagon package.

Mopar Insiders spy photos suggest that Stellantis is conjuring up what appears to be a Ram 2500 Rebel. Sources say that the vehicle in the photo is not a Power Wagon but a totally new off-road machine while keeping similar styling to the Ram 2500 Power Wagon. The Ram 2500 Rebel will more than likely sport a different hood but retain both the Power Wagon’s grille and fender flares. The 12.3 vertical infotainment system will remain as an interior centerpiece however a camouflage dashboard tells us a new digital dash may be on the horizon for the HD off-road pickup.

Prior to the suspected Ram HD Rebel being spied, some interesting new tech heading for the the brand’s biggest truck was also spied. Specifically, a set of trick towing mirrors. The tow mirrors themselves will harness a couple of neat features that include power- and manual-extending versions of themselves that will also house power-adjustable heated glass, spotter glass, LED puddle lights and turn signals, as well as blind spot indicators, rear- and forward-facing spotlights, 360-degree cameras, and new tow cameras. The new tech comes at a time where everyone seems to be upping the ante in the towing department. Chevy for example has come out with its “invisible trailer” commercial showing off its 8 camera system offering 15 different views, one of which makes your trailer “invisible.”
