GMC HUMMER EV ORIGIN STORY DOCUMENTARY LAUNCHING MARCH 27

GMC and A+E Networks have announced the television premiere of “Revolution: GMC Hummer EV,” a new documentary that showcases the development of the all-electric super truck. The Hummer EV was developed within a short time span of a little over two years which is an impressive feat for any car manufacturer, especially when considering the creation of new technology.

GMC Hummer EV: Documentary Details

Now we will get a behind-the-scenes look at the origin story for the GMC Hummer EV on Sunday, March 27th, at 11 AM ET, on the History Channel. The 60-minute documentary will follow the hand-selected group of General Motors team members that helped launch the company’s first all-electric pickup in record time. The documentary crew had unfettered access, which will give viewers insight into critical moments in the development of the Hummer EV, from inception to the start of production.

GMC selected Detroit-based WTP Pictures and Hiatus to produce the film. Viewers will get to join the team in the freezing temperatures of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula as they test the Hummer EV‘s limits on snow and ice. Additionally, filming was done in the scorching heat and steep red rocks of Moab, Utah, so that the team could fine-tune the truck’s off-road capabilities. Viewers will also get a closer look at GM’s testing and development facilities, which were previously unseen by the public.

The documentary will also get an inside look at the retooling of GM’s Factory Zero Detroit Hamtramck assembly plant. Last but not least, viewers will get to see the development of GM’s Ultium Platform, their dedicated EV architecture, and propulsion system that can be applied to nearly every type of vehicle. Following the premiere on The History Channel, the documentary will be available for streaming via History on Hulu on March 27th and on GMC’s YouTube channel starting April 3rd.
