It’s no secret that there’s a logjam for the Ford Bronco. The popular SUV was even considered more anticipated than the C8 Corvette at one point, and its debut ended up crashing Ford’s website that same summer evening. Further, the Ford Bronco First Edition sold out so quickly that the automaker had to double its total production volume, only to sell out quickly once again. That left the Badlands and Wildtrak as the top dogs of the lineup, which are now eclipsed by the new Everglades and Raptor models. Considering there was a global pandemic going on, and considering that supply chain issues (chips!) have continued to hamstring the auto industry, and that gas has inflated to over $5 a gallon, demand for the Bronco nevertheless remains white hot.
So, what if you just want a Ford Bronco, regardless of the trim level? What’s the model to get in order to cut in line? We have the details just below.
Ford Bronco Constraints: Details
“We’ve got overwhelming demand. The most popular models are the pretty loaded ones. So your Badlands, your Wildtrak, 2.7L, Sasquatch, mod bumper, lux package, the fully decked out type units,” explained Ford Bronco Marketing Manager Mark Grueber in an interview with MC&T during the 2022 Ford Bronco Everglades drive that took place in Drummond Island, Michigan. “The units that are more readily available that you could get sooner would be something like a a Big Bend series, which is our volume series, four-door, 2.3L automatic with a soft top, non-Sasquatch.”

Being that customers went for the fully loaded models early, it comes as no surprise to what Grueber told us next. The most constrained Ford Bronco at the moment is the Wildtrak 2 door, according to the marketing manager, who also oversees Mustang and has experience with the Ford F-150, launching the original Raptor.
“I think in part because it looked like it was top of the line because the starting price was the highest (First Edition aside)… the Badlands you can actually load up to be more than a Wildtrak, but I think in part of that it was the most constrained.”
Despite the long wait list, Ford Bronco Wildtrak 2-Door customers aren’t exclusively jumping ship for either a Bronco Raptor or a Bronco Everglades order.
“I wouldn’t say necessarily” that Bronco Everglades and Raptor conversion customers are coming from Wildtrak 2-door… but I think in general they’re more higher spec trims,” Grueber concluded.

When the Ford Bronco Wildtrak made its debut, we proclaimed it as the “Bronco Raptor you can buy.” And that’s because it comes with a Dana 44 AdvanTEK solid rear axle and a Dana AdvanTEK independent front differential, for improved performance on the dunes. The Ford Bronco Wildtrak also comes standard with an EcoBoost V6, as well as the mighty Sasquatch Package. This means there are electronic locking differentials added to both the front and rear, and a set of high-clearance suspension with position sensitive Bilstein shock absorbers find their way onto the truck. Other features include a 4.7:1 final drive ratio, larger fender flares, 17-inch black-painted aluminum beadlock-capable wheels and 35-inch BSW Mud-Terrain tires. Combine all this hardware with Ford’s new off-roading tech such as Trail Control and the seven-mode Terrain Management system, and what you have is a tremendously capable package right out of the box.
