75 years is a long time and marks a massive milestone for the F-Series trucks, which have become synonymous with hard work and reliability. So to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the F-Series pickup, Ford has put together the new 2023 Ford F-150 Heritage Edition, which will be available on the F-150 XLT trim. The design will be a fresh interpretation of the classic exterior paint pattern, A-B-A. That means the roof and pillars are painted in color A, the midsection is color B, and A repeats on the bumpers, lower door, and lower body. The three-section two-tone paint job was a popular option on classic trucks, though I wasn’t alive to see it.
2023 Ford F-150 Heritage Edition: Details
Five different color schemes will be available for the 2023 Ford F-150 Heritage Edition. A Carbonized Gray upper and lower can be paired with Race Red or Antimatter Blue midsections, while Agate Black uppers and lowers can come with either Atlas Blue, Avalanche (white), and Area 51 midsections. The interior of the vehicle is finished in Black and Slate Gray. Ford also adds unique seat trim covers and embossing on the console lid while a white “75 Years” logo is placed up high in the middle of the windshield; it also appears as part of the startup graphic in the infotainment display. This will help separate the F-150 Heritage Edition from the regular XLT models.
Orders for the 2023 F-150 Heritage Edition open in mid-July, and production will start in the fall. Ford has stated that we’ll have to wait until the order books open to get pricing on the special edition truck. It’s also likely that customers will be waiting a bit to get these trucks once their order is placed as Ford and other companies are continuing to deal with supply shortages.
In its 75 years, the Ford F-Series has gone through 15 generations, and the Blue Oval has built more than 40 million F-Series trucks as of January 2022. It has been the best-selling truck lineup in the US every single year since 1977, setting a record that no other combustion-powered pickup truck will ever manage to break. But that’s not all; since 1981, it has been the best-selling vehicle in the United States.
