Cadillac may have been grabbing headlines about its new and future electric products, but don’t let that fool you. The brand is still very much in high-octane mode with its V-Series sub-brand of performance vehicles. The Escalade-V is the latest example, while the record setting Blackwing products continue forward with their momentum. Case in point, Cadillac has just recently teased the upcoming 2023 CT4-V Blackwing Track Edition that will no doubt find its way onto roadways and racetracks in the future.
Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing Track Edition: Details
Cadillac hasn’t yet shared any official figures on the upcoming Track Edition cars. Still, based on the video, we can tell that they will feature Carbon Fiber 1 and Carbon Fiber 2 packages as well as some shouty IMSA decals similar to the Cadillac CTS-V IMSA Championship Edition, which launched in 2017. The three cars we can see in the video feature Rift Metallic, Maverick noir Frost, and Electric Blue exterior colors. Cadillac claims the vehicles are inspired by Watkins Glen, Road Atlanta, and Sebring, all legendary road courses that hold significance for Cadillac.
We can see that the Electric Blue car is seen sporting the Watkins Glen track layout, while the Maverick Noir Frost model is dedicated to the Sebring track. The rift Metallic CT4-V Blackwing will likely wear the Road Atlanta track layout, which can be seen in the rear driver’s side door. Cadillac will likely not make any significant changes to the engine, so the Track Edition cars should keep the twin-turbo 3.6L LF4 V6 engine with its 472 horsepower and 445 lb-ft of torque. However, we may see upgrades to the chassis, brakes, and suspension.
The standard Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing is known for having excellent steering and dynamics, and we’re hopeful that the Track Edition will bring even more of that to the table. Creating an even more thrilling and enjoyable driving experience both on the road and on the track. Cadillac has stated that it will host a full reveal on its website in July, though a specific date has not yet been given.
