The upcoming monthly order cycle for the 2023 Corvette Stingray sports cars is preparing to start. So it looks like we’ll finally be seeing the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray 70th Anniversary models built for customers. This is excellent news considering that when production for the 2023 Corvette Stingrays first began in mid-May, a constraint on the exclusive 20-spoke Q9A wheels with the red stripe made the trim temporarily unavailable.
Corvette Stingray 70th Anniversary Edition: Production Details
According to Corvette Blogger, Chevrolet recently managed to come up with enough wheels to run a batch through the Corvette Assembly Plant just prior to the 4th of July summer shutdown. As a result, national Corvette Seller Mike Furman received one of the first 70th Anniversary Editions in the country, taking delivery last Friday of a Pearl White Convertible wearing VIN 007. There was also a White 70th Anniversary model that arrived at Ciocca Corvette – one of the biggest Corvette dealers in the world.
With some cars now built, dealerships are starting to see movement with their Corvette Stingray 70th Anniversary orders. Since the Q9A wheels and 70th Anniversary package are no longer “under constraint,” this makes sense.
Chevy dealer rep by the name of Corvette Ed on the MidEngineCorvetteForum also stated that “90% of Z51 orders can have magnetic ride control.” This is excellent news as Magnetic Ride Select Control has been on limited constraint since March, and it’s caused a bit of havoc during order cycles. Dealers had to scramble to line up allocations. At the same time, customers were sometimes forced to make the difficult decision to either wait or pay the extra $6,345 for the Z51 Performance Package so they could order the $1,895 MagRide option.
Overall, things are starting to look up for 2023 Corvette production, but official pricing, ordering and production of the C8 Corvette Z06 supercar remain elusive.
