It was clear that some of the orders for the 2022 model year Ford Maverick would get pushed to the 2023 model year since the company has had constraints in production due to supply shortages along with over 100,000 orders which prompted them to close the books earlier this year. We covered the assortment of constraints that Ford faced back in February, and they sent emails to customers to prompt them to modify their orders. But this week, a new email has been sent to customers informing them that their Ford Maverick would be pushed into the next production year.
2023 Ford Maverick Orders
It’s unclear what the emails state, as no one has yet shared that on the Maverick Truck Club forum. However, customers that have been bumped by the Ford Motor Company will likely be keeping the price for the 2022 model. Though, if dealers are marking up the Mavericks like they are for all other vehicles in high demand, it probably won’t make that much of a difference. If customers request a 2023 Ford Maverick instead of waiting to receive an email, they will likely be hit with the price increase.
It’s also likely that Ford continues not to recommend changing the trim of the Ford Maverick, as back in February, they stated that that could change the order’s receipt date, causing them to have to wait an even longer amount of time for their truck. The order banks for the 2023 model year will be opening at some point this summer, and customers will likely need to work with their Ford dealer to get things sorted out.
It’s unclear if Ford is continuing to face production constraints for the popular tiny truck. But at the beginning of the year, a few packages, including the XLT Luxury and Lariat Luxury, caused further delays for some customer orders. This was due to parts required for Co-Pilot360 being scarce. Ford has kept silent since then on how things have been going regarding supply shortages, but they are certainly not the only manufacturer that continues to combat these issues.
